First things first, I've been a loyal OmniCharge customer for years, since the original Omni20 campaign on Indiegogo. And I absolutely love the new Omni40+!
Now to the very few things I either did not like or was confused by.
1. Why in the world did you make a rectangular case for something which is triangular? The triangular shape might be not the most obvious choice to begin with, and it makes it a little hard to pack efficiently. But I totally get it, it makes perfect sense given the battery geometry inside, and it feels so satisfying to carry in your hand! So, why is the case rectangular? Not only does this dismiss and obstruct the unique triangular shape of the device, but it also simply wastes a lot of space this way, too. And a power bank is naturally something you carry around with you frequently, which makes packing density an important criterion.
2. Barrel port diameter is not compatible with that of Omni20. This makes some of the existing accessories obsolete. I was hoping to use my older charger and Surface barrel cable. (It would be nice to have two chargers, one is always in your bag, and the other one sits at home.)
3. The "Main" Type-C port is not labeled very clearly. The included manual says "Port 1" outputs 100W max, but neither the devices itself, nor the diagram in the manual give a hint which one is Port 1.
Nitpick A. I recently noticed that the online manual was fixed, and it now says that "Port 2" is the one with 100W. This makes a lot more sense, but still, better labeling on the device itself could probably be a better solution.
Nitpick B. I wish all ports were created equal; it would have solved so much confusion to begin with! (And be way more functional, too. E.g., you could charge two laptops at once, without compromise.)
4. The charger has some glossy surface which is not very functional as it will collect dust and scratches. It also very obviously does *not* share the same design language and materials as the power bank itself. In other words, the charger feels like an afterthought, not part of the product portfolio.
Nitpick C. All of the above also applies to the car charger. But I'm less concerned about this one since it mostly sits in the car, and you're not supposed to carry it around.
5. I appreciate the durable feeling of the inbox Type-C cable. But I would like some clearer labeling (e.g. on the packaging) about the exact cable type. Is it only for power, or also transmitting data? If data, then what at what speeds? E.g., is it USB 3.0 cable, or 3.1 Gen 1, etc.
6. I would prefer one (or both) of the ends of the Type-C cable to be angled, though. The ends are very massive (and I understand the reasons) but this way they stick too far from my tiny Surface. Especially given that I no longer can use the Surface Connect charging cable that came with my Omni20 because the barrel port does not match.
7. The fact that your promo materials did *not* feature an Omni40+ fitting nicely under the Surface Pro kickstand simply feels like a missed opportunity.
